CULVER CITY, Calif. -- Columbia TriStar Home Video will release "Fly Away Home" directly to the sell-through market on Feb. 11. Following the studio's practice with other recent sell-through titles, there is no suggested retail price, but a minimum advertised price of $15.95 has been set.
"Fly Away Home" will be backed by a "multimillion-dollar marketing campaign" that will create over 300 million consumer impressions, the studio said. Elements in the campaign will include post-street-date television advertising and a sweepstakes with the Family Channel show "Home & Family." A 30-second commercial will appear on network prime time, national cable and local spot programming starting on the Feb. 11 street date and continuing for three weeks. The title also has been trailered on other Columbia TriStar releases. Among the point-of-purchase materials will be a 12-unit counter display, 24-, 48- and 60-piece floor displays, with a header featuring a three-dimensional miniature ultralight airplane, and "hatching egg" buttons for employees to wear announcing the release.
