Supermarkets in the United States have a price perception challenge in the health and beauty care products arena, according to a national consumer survey commissioned by Supermarket News. While shoppers laud supermarkets' selection, product quality and convenience in HBC, they say discount stores offer them better prices for the same items. The survey shows that supermarkets need to get more aggressive on pricing if they hope to further build HBC business.
