Penn Traffic Co., Syracuse, N.Y., last week said revenues for the third quarter ended Nov. 2 dropped 4% to $811 million. Sales for the 39-week period fell 4.2% to $2.48 billion. Same-store sales dipped 1.9% for the quarter and 2.1% for the 39 weeks. recurring charges, vs. $5.4 million in net earnings a year before. In the quarter, sales climbed 5.5% to $449 million, and same-store sales were up 1%. In the half, sales rose 5.3% to $784.9 million; same-store sales weren't reported for the period.
