FREEHOLD, N.J. -- Foodarama Supermarkets here posted a loss for its fiscal fourth quarter after taking a charge of about $1.2 million for the write-down of leasehold improvements at a single store. The 26-store ShopRite operator said its loss for the 13-week period ended Oct. 30, 2004, totaled $892,000, vs. net income of $1.23 million in the year-ago fourth quarter.
