SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Green Hills Farms here has already significantly reduced direct-mailing costs and hopes to improve communication with customers with five recently installed in-store computer kiosks. The one-store retailer used to spend about $2,500 a month on direct mailing to its "top" customers, said Lisa Piron, director of management information systems.
