HAZELWOOD, Mo. -- Hazelwood Farms Bakeries here has signed a letter of intent to purchase Signature Mondial, a Medford, Mass.-based manufacturer of frozen bakery products.
"We already have some items in the category, but they're not as well-established as Signature breads," Knowles added.
Hazelwood already supplies breads, rolls, brownies, cakes, croissants, Danish, donuts, frostings, glazes, muffins, pies, pizza dough, puff pastry and eclairs to in-store bakeries and food-service operations.
The company intends to add Signature's Medford and Somerville, Mass., facilities to its plants in Atlanta, Hazelwood, Mo., Hazleton, Pa., McMinnville, Ore., and Rochester, N.Y., pending government approval of the sale.
