BLACK MOUNTAIN, N.C. -- Ingles Markets here said last week store investments and marketing efforts resulted in comparable-store sales increases of 7.2% and 7.9%, respectively, for the third quarter and nine months ended June 26.
According to Robert Ingle, chairman and chief executive officer, "The investment we have made in our stores, combined with our efforts to reach out to customers through both community involvement and effective marketing, are producing outstanding results."
During the nine-month period, Ingles said, it opened three stores, replaced two existing units, closed four stores and completed one major remodeling and nine minor remodelings.
