LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The Kroger division here was expected to retrofit one store last week with a new version of software used by staff overseeing customer self-checkout stations. The new application features a graphic interface that allows for easier monitoring of transactions in the store's four self-service checkout lanes, where customers scan, bag and pay for their own groceries.
