HOUSTON -- W. Hugh Phillips is to retire from Minute Maid Co. here (formerly Coca-Cola Foods) Feb. 28.

Phillips was active in numerous supplier organizations, including boards of the Asparagus Club and The Illuminators. He was on the Food Marketing Institute's Trade Advisory Committee and on the Food Distributors International and National Grocers Association supplier advisory councils. Phillips was also a long-time member of the Grocery Manufacturers Association's annual marketing seminars steering committee.
Prior to joining Minute Maid, Phillips was national accounts manager for RJR Foods. He began his career with Pillsbury Co. in 1954.
Phillips is to be recognized at a reception Jan. 19 during the FMI Mid-Winter Executive Conference in Scottsdale, Ariz. The event will be hosted by Ralph Cooper, Minute Maid president and chief executive officer.
Phillips will be succeeded by Robert M. Holbritter, now Minute Maid's director of industry relations.
