FSIS Launches HACCP Phase III fety and Inspection Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture has announced the third and final phase of implementation for Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point systems in all "very small" plants -- those with 10 or fewer employees. Currently, there are 5,700 federal- and state-inspected meat and poultry plants in this category. They are required to adopt the pathogen controls mandated by HACCP by Jan. 25, 2000.
