A/Universal Home Video will release the recent theatrical hit, "The Little Rascals," on Feb. 17. The movie, which grossed $51 million at the box office, will be priced at $24.98 for the sell-through market, with an order close date of Feb. 1. Marketing support will include a $5 mail-in rebate offer on the purchase of "The Little Rascals" and one of seven "Ma & Pa Kettle" titles. The title also will be backed by two cross-promotional partners. Superflora will offer up to a $20 discount off the price of a floral bouquet or gift basket, promoted on an insert in each video package. Hilton Hotels will offer consumers $75 off a family vacation package, which requires a three-night stay. Hilton will promote the offer in its consumer ads.
NEW YORK -- CBS/Fox Video and NBA Entertainment will release a video profile of basketball star Shaquille O'Neal on Feb. 1. "Shaquille O'Neal Larger Than Life" will have a suggested retail price of $19.98 and an order date of Jan. 13. The 55-minute video features National Basketball Association footage of O'Neal, off-the-court moments and candid interviews. Advertising will include a 30-second spot that will air on NBC, MTV and nationally-televised NBA programming and games.
