PLEASANTON, Calif. -- Safeway is recalling 11.5-ounce packages of its private-label Mrs. Wright's chocolate chip cookies that have the "sell by" dates of Sept. 15 or Jan. 19. life-threatening allergic reactions in some people. Customers were told to return the packages of cookies to local stores for a full refund, the company said. Officials at Safeway were unavailable to comment on how many packages were affected.
