WASHINGTON (FNS) -- The Food and Drug Administration last week released final rules for new mandatory seafood inspections, based on the principles of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points. to 60,000 poisonings a year from eating contaminated seafood will be prevented. Retailers were excluded from the program since inspection of stores falls under the jurisdictions of state and local governments, officials said.
