NEW YORK -- SN will begin soliciting nominations from the industry for its second annual list of "SN's Power 50." The list will be published in the July 26 issue, and nominees can include retailers, manufacturers, sales agents, and those in government and associations who have made their mark on the industry.
will also feature SN's 2003 Power 50, which can be used as a reference. Executives that made the list in 2003 can be nominated again this year.
Those without Internet access can receive a nomination form by calling (212) 630-3770. The deadline for submissions is May 17.
SN's nominating instructions point out that it's difficult to develop a precise definition of the type of people who qualify for the Power 50. However, the instructions note the ideal candidates have an industry impact beyond the scope of their immediate organizations. They are "people who are sometimes controversial, always compelling" and "wield the most influence in the food industry and beyond."
