QUINCY, Mass. -- Stop & Shop and Dunkin' Donuts created their first cross promotion since the doughnut concept began opening units inside the retailer's stores in March 2001. For the week leading up to Valentine's Day, the new "Dozen for a Dozen" program invited shoppers who purchased one dozen Majestic roses or $20 in select holiday merchandise to redeem a coupon for 12 free Dunkin' Donuts through Feb. 28. Officials called the arrangement a key strategy in demonstrating to consumers the convenience of one-stop shopping offered by the partnership. To date, there are approximately 100 full-service Dunkin' Donuts shops operating in Stop & Shop supermarkets.
