SUNBURY, Pa. -- Weis Markets here said sales and earnings for its supermarket operations increased for the second quarter and half ended June 28. However, ongoing problems at its SuperPetz subsidiary resulted in an overall earnings decline for both periods. les increased 1.6%. Excluding SuperPetz results, the company said net income rose 4.5% for the quarter and 5.2% for the half, while sales increased 2.9% for the quarter and 3.6% for the half.
