SUNBURY, Pa. -- Weis Markets here said last week sales rose 3.9% to $504.4 million for the first quarter ended March 30. The company said the sales increase came as a result of aggressive promotional activity in key markets, continuing enhancements to its loyalty-marketing program, and the Easter holiday sales, which fell in the second quarter last year.
