One of our globe-trotting staffers here at
Supermarket News was visiting friends in Germany earlier this month. Given our profession, and the subject matter we cover, it's tough avoiding work entirely. Food is an integral part of
any vacation, and that means eating in restaurants — or shopping for food at different supermarkets and
related venues.
And a supermarket outside of Berlin is where our perishables editor Matt Enis found himself, when curiosity got the better of him and he decided to peruse the aisles. This box of gluten-free muffin mix caught his eye for obvious reasons (click on the image to get a better look at the label).
As he told me, "Apparently they're still tweaking their gluten-free recipes over here."
