GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn. — Dollar General here on Friday announced the introduction of fuel pumps at a store in Hanceville, Ala.
The discounter described the fuel station as a “test pilot” it would evaluate over the next year. The project is part of an agreement with Gainesville, Ga.-based fuel oil company Mansfield Oil.
"Dollar General continues to innovate to provide convenience and value for our customers," Rick Dreiling, chairman and chief executive officer of Dollar General, said in a statement. "This project to test a fuel offering is consistent with our strategy of continually looking for new and better ways to meet our customers' needs for value and convenience and enhancing our position as America's general store."
Dollar General and Mansfield will evaluate the results of the pilot project over the next year and jointly assess expansion opportunities.
