CINCINNATI — Kroger Co. has kicked off “Rico Summer” (flavorful summer), a Hispanic-themed promotion that starts with Cinco de Mayo and runs throughout the summer.
A new bilingual website, ricosummer.com, anchors the promotion. The site includes games, recipes and digital coupons. On the site, once users select their Kroger banner and store of choice, they are presented with dates of sampling events.
“Come to our live in-store demos,” Kroger states in promotional materials. “Delicious food sampling of great products for all your Cinco de Mayo and summer-fun fiestas!"
The site also includes a “Dance with Rico” game where they upload their picture on character, and see their character dance to music of their choosing.
Sponsoring brands include Coca-Cola, Totino’s pizza rolls, Hellmann’s mayonnaise, Mission, Suavitel, Kool-Aid, Oscar Mayer and Ritz.
