SUNBURY, Pa. — Weis Markets here said Thursday greater efficiencies in store operations and more disciplined marketing and advertising helped boost earnings for the first fiscal quarter, which ended March 26. Net income increased 7% to $18.6 million, while sales declined 0.7% to $659.5 million. Comparable-store sales rose 0.6%.
