MATTHEWS, N.C. — Family Dollar Stores here on Monday opened its first four stores in California. The stores in Ontario, Rialto, Riverside and Fontana will hold grand opening celebrations beginning Thursday. The new stores are among 400 to 500 new locations the discounter expects to open during its fiscal year and the first as many as 50 in California by next year.
