BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Wal-Mart Stores said Friday that it would phase out its offering of HD DVD product in favor of Blu-ray technology at its 4,000 Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club stores in the U.S. All stores will offer only Blu-ray and standard-definition DVDs and players by June, the company said.
