BROOKINGS, Ore. — To help troops to call home, C&K Market here, in partnership with Cell Phones for Soldiers, is asking local residents to donate "gently-used" cell phones that will be recycled by Mindful eCycling. Last year the chain collected 1,033 cell phones, which were recycled in exchange for 61,980 minutes — more than 1,000 hours — of free talk time. C&K said its goal this year is 1,500 phones.
