ARLINGTON, Va. — Food Marketing Institute here last week said Tim Hammonds plans to retire as its president and chief executive officer once a successor is found. Hammonds, 64, joined FMI in 1975 and has been president and CEO of the association for the past 15 years. The announcement of his retirement, made by FMI Chairman Steve Smith, occurred just days before the 2008 FMI Show in Las Vegas, where Hammonds is scheduled to address attendees on the state of the industry and other topics. ...
