PLEASANTON, Calif. — Two of Safeway’s store brands have a starring role in an Oscar-themed promo.
Shoppers who buy a bag of the retailer’s Snack Artist-brand chips or pretzels, and two 12-packs of Safeway’s “Refreshe” cola and/or seltzer will get a coupon code for a free one-day Redbox DVD rental.
“Oscar winners only have 45 seconds to give their acceptance speech, but you have all weekend to catch up on this year's flicks with some tasty snacks,” Safeway wrote on its Facebook page.
This year’s Oscar ceremony takes place Sunday, Feb. 24
“Enjoy movie night on us,” Safeway wrote.
