Big Y Touts Butcher Shop in New Store
BETHEL, Conn. -- Big Y has announced it will open an exclusively full-service fresh meat department in its newest location here this week. Describing the department as an “old-fashioned butcher shop” in a release, officials at the chain announced that “all fresh meat including Black Angus USDA choice beef, Naturewell Natural Beef, Hormel Always Tender Pork, and American Lamb and Veal will be available daily from Big Y‘s trained butchers. In addition to custom cutting all meats, the butchers will offer cooking suggestions and preparation tips such as carving secrets for roasts or home grilling basics.” The 65,000-square-foot location will also feature a food court, a produce department with over 700 different fruits and vegetables, an expanded selection of organics, a full-service deli department with a large antipasti bar, and a full-line bakery department.Subscribe / Renew to Supermarket News
