Spinach Industry Unveils New Website
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The fresh spinach industry has unveiled a new website designed to rebuild consumer confidence in the leafy green. The site, www.curlyleafspinach.com, was created for consumers in the wake of last fall's nationwide outbreak of E. coli poisoning. The outbreak led the Food and Drug Administration to advise people not to eat any fresh spinach. Retailers and restaurants stopped offering spinach, and brought sales to a halt. The website provides shoppers with safe handling, preparation and storage advice, recipes and nutrition information.Subscribe / Renew to Supermarket News
