Lund Food Holdings recently began selling organic greens and tilapia produced by Urban Organics, whose facility combines hydroponics and aquaculture in St. Paul, Minn. The aquaponics system provides local, sustainable, organic products, attributes that have resonated with Lund customers.
“So the story is pretty compelling when you talk about all the things that it represents, in terms of local produce and local aquaculture and keeping it fresh and in its community,” said Rick Steigerwald, Lund’s VP of fresh foods.
