ACME HOSTS NAVEL ORANGE TASTINGS

PHILADELPHIA — Acme Markets this month ran in-store tastings of South African navel oranges at 40 of its leading stores. The promotion was held in conjunction with a Columbus Day youth soccer tournament in northeast Philadelphia, sponsored by The Western Cape Citrus Producers' Forum, which represents almost 300 South African citrus growers that are eligible to export to the United States. WCCPF also had plenty of oranges on hand at halftime for kids participating in the tournament, which drew more than 100 teams from as far away as Canada, New York, Delaware and northern New Jersey.
