BATON ROUGE, La. — Associated Grocers of Baton Rouge (AGBR) has joined with The Retail Control Group, Scottsdale, Ariz., to launch an initiative that trains retail members of AGBR to reduce store shrink and grow store sales.
The retailers will be provided with The Retail Control Group’s “Total Store Manager” and “Customer Service Excellence” programs, following implementation at targeted member stores.

“These initiatives are part of our on-going work to strengthen our retailers' operations and bottom line,” said Emile Breaux, senior vice president for AGBR, in a statement. “We have retailers who reduced perishable and overall store shrink by as much as 15%, dramatically improved cash flow and through this training energized entire store teams to grow profitable sales.”
Stores grew sales as much as 5%, he added. “In this market, that’s a big deal.”
