Bi-Lo Holdings here said Tuesday that it has entered into an agreement with consultants Willard Bishop and Karabus Management to "design a new value proposition" for the company. Brian Hotarek, Bi-Lo's newly appointed chief executive officer, told SN last week the company has plans to invest in its pricing and promotions in an effort to better understand its shoppers, improve relations with vendors and reduce costs. Willard Bishop, Barrington, Ill., works with food companies to solve problems and identify opportunities for profitable growth. Toronto-based Karabus is known for its merchandise optimization practice and has previously worked with retailers Big Y, A&P and Sobeys.
