ARLINGTON, Va. — National Grocers Association here said Monday that 14-year veteran Frank DiPasquale, executive vice president, was leaving the group, and will be succeeded by Charles Bray, a longtime veteran of other industry associations.

Bray, whose title at NGA will be executive vice president and chief operating officer, most recently was president and chief executive officer of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions. Prior to joining IAAPA, Bray was with consulting firm RSM McGladrey. He has also been president of the Food Processing Suppliers Association and president of the Electronic Retailing Association. From 1978 to 1995 Bray worked in a variety of positions at Food Marketing Institute, also based here, and ultimately was senior vice president and chief financial officer.

NGA, which represents independent food retailers and wholesalers, said that “with the new structure,” DiPasquale “has decided to pursue other opportunities in the food industry, effective immediately.”

“Frank has dedicated himself to this organization for the last 14 years and has been a passionate advocate for the independent grocer,” said Peter Larkin, president and CEO of NGA, in a prepared statement. “He will be missed but we wish him well as he embarks on the next exciting chapter in his career.”
