NEW YORK — Fairway Market, a high-volume, upscale supermarket chain here, said last week it plans to open its first store in New Jersey. The proposed 50,000-square-foot store, about 10 miles west of New York City in Paramus, a suburban shopping mecca, could open by early next year, the company said. Fairway operates two stores on Manhattan’s West Side, one in Plainview, on New York’s Long Island, and a fourth that opened last year in Brooklyn. New York investment firm Sterling Investment Partners, which recently acquired a majority stake in Fairway, had said it planned to expand the banner in the New York region.
