MATTHEWS, N.C. — Family Dollar Stores here yesterday said it has promoted Barry W. Sullivan to executive vice president, store operations. He continues to report to R. James Kelly, president and chief operating officer of the 6,400-store discount retailer. Sullivan, who joined Family Dollar in 2002 from drug-store chain Eckerd Corp., most recently was senior vice president, store operations.
