FMI Presents Award to New York Association Head

Food Marketing Institute last week said it gave its 2007 Donald H. MacManus Association Executive Award to Jim Rogers, president and chief executive officer, Food Industry Alliance of New York State.

ARLINGTON, Va. — Food Marketing Institute here last week said it gave its 2007 Donald H. MacManus Association Executive Award to Jim Rogers, president and chief executive officer, Food Industry Alliance of New York State. The award, presented at FMI’s Washington Public Policy Conference, recognizes Rogers for his efforts to fight credit card interchange fees and New York’s “bottle bills.” Past Kentucky Retail Federation President John Hinkle was also recognized at the conference for originating the concept of prohibiting interchange fees on the sales tax portion of credit card purchases, which has helped gain visibility of the issue among lawmakers, FMI said.
