Food For All: Casting Lifelines

For 23 years Food For All, through its checkout register drives at sponsoring supermarkets, has raised funds for countless nonprofit organizations both in the United States and abroad. Whether it's funding programs that teach Belize school children and villagers about how to plant gardens to supplement their food needs (pictured above) or helping the nation's food banks meet the growing need of food for the hungry in their communities, Food For All and its grocery partners continue to touch the lives of those in need.

This special report examines six organizations that are benefiting from Food For All's efforts as the need has become critical in an unstable world economy. The nonprofit organizations profiled here report being nervous about meeting their funding goals during the important holiday season. However, they are hopeful average shoppers, who are feeling the economic pinch as well, will make an emotional connection at the checkout and donate to those who don't have the means to purchase food at supermarkets during the holidays.

Food For All and its food partners will continue to throw out lifelines to end hunger and poverty in their communities and find better solutions.
