Fresh & Easy Launches Video 'Meal Idea' Contest

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market here said it is launching a "Meal Idea" contest in which it's inviting customers to submit videos offering easy meal ideas through April 30 on the chain's Facebook page.

The winner will receive $1,000 worth of groceries, and their meal idea will be featured and promoted by Fresh & Easy. The company will award a $500 gift card for second place, a $250 gift card for third place and $100 gift cards to the balance of the finalists.

To qualify, customers 18 years and older in California, Arizona and Nevada can submit a video of four minutes or less highlighting their meal idea — not necessarily a recipe, the company said, but a combination of products, the majority of which are Fresh & Easy brands. Judges, including Fresh & Easy chefs, will select up to 10 finalists based on originality, meal preparation and taste, and the winning video will be chosen by customers voting on Facebook.

Earlier this month the Tesco-owned company introduced a series of weekly videos showing customers how to create easy meals, using items the company was promoting, to feed a family of four for less than $4 per person.
