ROANOKE, Va. — Workers at 41 Kroger stores in Virginia, West Virginia and Tennessee voted to approve a new contract, the Cincinnati-based retailer said.
The three-year deal covers union workers at Kroger stores in Lynchburg, Charlottesville and Bristol, Va., as well as the Princeton area of West Virginia and in Kingsport and Johnson City, Tenn.
The workers were represented by United Food and Commercial Workers Local 400.
“We are pleased to reach an agreement that is good for our associates, providing them with wage increases, affordable health care and a stable pension fund to support their retirement,” Jay Cummins, president of Kroger’s Mid-Atlantic Division here, said in a statement. “This agreement is the outcome of thoughtful, respectful and proactive work by Kroger and union representatives. I extend our appreciation to associates for supporting this agreement and for the excellent services they provide to our customers every day.”
