Market Basket to Build on Former Shaw’s Site

ATTLEBORO, Mass. — Demoulas Market Basket is planning a store at the site of a former Shaw’s supermarket that closed in 2009, a local report said.

According to the Sun Chronicle newspaper, documents filed with the city’s planning department contemplate demolishing the vacant supermarket and building a new store there as part of a major redevelopment of the Bristol Place shopping center.

Demoulas, based in Tewksbury, Mass., operates 69 Market Basket stores in Massachusetts and New Hampshire and has been on a rapid expansion effort.

now that you have opened a new store in Bedford,NH and are planning one in North Conway why not move a little further in NH to Gorham,NH..We have a closed Shaw's store that has been vacant fro a few years . People are dissatisfied with Walmart and would surely welcome MarketBasket. There is ample parking.. We have 2 jails , federal and state and a new Bio mass operation in the process of being built.. There is plenty of customers for you, plus we have people coming down from Canada to shop, plus Mass. and vermont... Think about it you won't go wrong..Bob scherer
