Meijer Seeks New Wis. Location: Report

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Superstore operator Meijer here will seek approval to build a new store in Waukesha, Wis., according to local reports.

Meijer officials are expected to seek approvals to go forward with the project at a meeting this week, the Waukesha Now website reported, citing Waukesha Major Jeff Scrima. A preliminary timeline is for construction to begin during the first quarter of 2014 with a store opening scheduled for summer of 2015.

As reportedly previously in SN, Meijer has plans for multiple new sites in Wisconsin following its acquisition of a former Supervalu distribution center in Pleasant Prairie.
