Michaelson Named CEO at FreshDirect; Furbush Resigns

NEW YORK -- Steve Michaelson has been named chief executive officer of Internet grocery retailer FreshDirect here, replacing Dean Furbush, who recently resigned, a spokeswoman told SN. Furbush joined FreshDirect in 2004 and was named CEO later that year. A spokeswoman said Furbush left the company a few weeks ago but said she had no additional details. Michaelson, a former executive at Wegmans, Rochester, N.Y., and Weis Markets, Sunbury, Pa., joined FreshDirect as president in 2004. Michaelson will remain president in addition to his duties as CEO. -- Jon Springer
