ALEXANDRIA, Va. --
The National Association of Chain Drug Stores is establishing a new marketing, communications and media relations department. The restructuring “will ensure that we are aggressively promoting the value of community pharmacy to the American people, and to the target audiences that impact the image and the success of the industry,” said NACDS president and chief executive officer Steven C. Anderson. The department will be headed by a new senior vice president position reporting directly to Anderson. The new department will develop a public relations campaign to promote the role community pharmacies play in the nation, in the local community and in career opportunities. It will also establish a rapid response program that can defend the industry when required.
