SPRINGFIELD, N.J. — A funeral liturgy was held last week for Perry Sumas, co-founder of Village Super Market and of its cooperative, Wakefern Food Corp. Sumas died at age 94 on Aug. 7. He and his late brother, Nick, co-founded Village in 1937 after Perry immigrated to the United States from Greece in 1928. He was born in Vithos, Macedonia, Greece.
