PORTLAND, Ore. — A memorial service was scheduled here last week for Peter J. O'Neal, who had been first vice chairman of the board of Unified Grocers, the Los Angeles-based, member-owned cooperative, since 2005. O'Neal, who died Nov. 3 at age 65, was the operator of four Harvest Market locations — two in Oregon, one in Washington and one in Northern California. He was a board member of Unified since 1999, when Unified acquired United Grocers here — a company O'Neal had served as a director for 10 years, including time as board chairman. He is survived by his wife, two sons, two grandchildren and his parents.
