Philadelphia ShopRite Workers Agree to New Contracts

PHILADELPHIA -- Workers at 10 Philadelphia-area ShopRite stores voted last week to approve new three-year contracts, the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 1776 here said.

PHILADELPHIA -- Workers at 10 Philadelphia-area ShopRite stores voted last week to approve new three-year contracts, the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 1776 here said. The deal calls for pay raises of $1.35 per hour for employees with four years‘ experience and for ShopRite to boost its contributions to pension plans, the union added. The agreements cover employees at eight Brown ShopRite stores as well as the Ammons and Colligas stores. Earlier this month, Local 1776 approved a new three-year deal for employees at four ShopRite stores in Northeast Philadelphia, ending 18 months of negotiations.
