SHEBOYGAN, Wis. — Piggly Wiggly Midwest said Tuesday that it would open a new Piggly Wiggly supermarket at the site of a former Kmart store in Beloit, Wis.

The retailer said the new store will occupy around 50,000 square feet of the building, and plans call for a junior anchor to occupy around 20,000 square feet. The store is set to open in mid-2013, Piggly Wiggly said.

“We are excited to bring Piggly Wiggly to Beloit,” Paul Butera, owner of Piggly Wiggly Midwest, said in a statement. “Customers are going to love the weekly specials, the quality and value of our store brand products along with the highest quality bakery, deli, produce and meat products.”
