WASHINGTON — NCB here, formerly known as National Cooperative Bank, said Monday that Al Plamann (right), chief executive officer, Unified Grocers, Commerce, Calif., has been named chairman of the financial-services group.
Michael Mercer, president and CEO of Georgia Credit Union Affiliates, Duluth, Ga., was named vice chair. Other food-industry executives serving on the board of NCB include Robynn Shrader, CEO of National Cooperative Grocers Association, Iowa City, Iowa; and Doug Wille, chief financial officer, Wakefern Food Corp., Keasbey, N.J.
At the 2012 NCB annual meeting last week, the group also celebrated the 2012 International Year of Cooperatives, a United Nations declaration and global effort to educate the public on the benefits of cooperatives.
