Price Chopper Goes ‘Xtreme’ in Conn. Stores

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — Price Chopper Supermarkets said it has introduced an “Xtreme Values” concept at five of its stores in Central Connecticut.

The stores, in Southington, Bristol, Vernon, Newington and Windsor, include “piles of deeply discounted items” in specially merchandised areas of the stores, including Center Store and fresh, the company said. With Clear Value, Price Chopper’s economy private label line as its base, Xtreme Values features an assortment of opportunity buys, limited edition products, lesser known brands, truckload sales, and closeouts, as well as not seen before deals on corporate and national brand products.

“Xtreme Values brings the fun and excitement of a treasure hunt to the Price Chopper shopping experience,” Jerry Golub, Price Chopper’s chief executive officer, said in a statement.

There are no plans to expand Xtreme Values to the chain’s other 123 locations in the Northeast, the company said.
