LAS VEGAS — Mike Provenzano, president and chief executive officer of Pro's Ranch Markets, Ontario, Calif., accepts the first-ever Thomas K. Zaucha Entrepreneurial Excellence Award from Kraft Foods.The award was presented just prior to the National Grocers Association's annual convention here by Dennis Belcastro (in back), vice president of customer development and industry relations for Kraft Foods Global, Northfield, Ill.According to Belcastro, Provenzano, who operates 11 stores in the West, was given the award for “doing what few of us ever are able to do — shift the paradigm of how you go about addressing specific needs in unique ways to completely change the way one does business. He and his four sons have created a vital, growing and evolving business model founded upon the principles of a good, old-fashioned work ethic and bolstered by a creative vision.”
